CLICK 'START EXPLORING'
For this project we had to create an interactive map which told a story in each location and took the audience through the story by clicking on different locations.
For our group we decided to create a story about a post apocalyptic world which 'Tom and Lizzie' find themselves returning home to a desolate country and Lizzie writes diary entries to give to her parents to document the journey. They aren't aware of the goings on due to being on the other side of the world which hadn't been affected yet.
This interactive map takes the audience along on the journey of Lizzie and Tom trying to get home by visiting these certain locations which adds realism to their story due to 'visiting' these locations.
I really enjoyed doing this programme as it gave me and my friends the chance to create our own world and story and we had a lot of freedom and creativity to choose what to do.
The only downside was that you had to ensure your map and stories made sense, were easy to follow along on and had a narrative structure, which took us a while to get perfected at the beginning.
Overall, really good and would definatetly use it again.
