Photo Illusion

I chose to create the above image of photo maniplulation and illusion because i felt that it showed both technique as well as creativity. The use of a black and white background against the colourful character enhanced not only the 'realistic' hand but also the character involved.

I chose my background image from google but wanted to ensure that everything included was scaled to size to add to the feeling of it being a cartoon and realistic world combined into one. I then chose my character off google and wanted to ensure his expression fitted with the scene being displayed. I used the 'magnetic lasso' tool to cut out his frame and then inserted him over the background. I then took the photo of the hand myself and did the same process and finally then used the 'rubber' tool to connect the action together with the image manipulation as though he was 'rubbed out'.

I wanted the image to include both a sense of realism and humour and felt that it did so with the composition of the mans face, the street view and the contrast of black and white and colour. It could be said to represent how you can become invisible or 'whipped out' at any point, by anything, in a basic world.
