When I was given the brief to go out and capture Liverpool in ways which I would not normally see it, I was beyond excited to get started. Firstly, Liverpool is one of the most diverse, innovative and vivid cities I've been to. There is endless photo opportunities to take ahold of and trying to narrow down my top 5 selections from the photographs taken was hard, to say the least.

From the shortlisted 5, I tried to incorporate as much diversity throughout and show Liverpool in the vivid way it is. I tried to embody all aspects of the city and I felt that I did this in a well composed, variety of shots.

I chose the above photograph of the collection as the one which best represents what I'm trying to show. It includes the Cunard Building, a modern glass building and the statement 'CREATIVE, CULTURAL, LIVELY- LIVERPOOL'. I felt that this was the image to represent as firstly it includes one of the best known buildings for filming locations in Liverpool, the Cunard. It also then shows the diversity and innovation of the city with the contrast of the modern glass building on the other side reflecting the older building, highlighting the mix of old and new throughout the city. Finally, the bold statement on the face of the glass which simply states what Liverpool is all about, adds the finishing touch to the photograph. Due to these reasonings, to me, this image is a full, true representation of what Liverpool is all about.
